USE CASE Account access

Protect the way
accounts are reached.

Add browser evidence to sign-in and recovery flows without introducing a CAPTCHA into your application.

WHAT TO COVER

Cover the paths into an account.

Cover sign-in deliberately

Attach verification to the browser-originated sign-in request. Keep credential validation, account throttling, and MFA in place. Browser evidence complements these controls; it does not establish ownership of an account.

Treat recovery as its own action

Password reset requests and recovery completion have different consequences. Give them separate coverage and review their completion rates. Never expose whether an account exists through a verification error.

Preserve trusted non-browser callers

Mobile applications, identity-provider callbacks, and service integrations need their own supported authentication paths. Do not put a browser-only guard in front of every route just because the routes share an account namespace.

Review the full journey

Observe verification decisions alongside successful sign-ins, recovery completion, and support reports. Test expired sessions, interrupted connections, and normal retries before changing the action’s enforcement policy.
