USE CASE Checkout

Protect the action
that commits the cart.

Bring browser verification to order creation and reservation requests, alongside the controls your commerce application already owns.

  1. Checkout request
  2. MANDATEBrowser verification
  3. Payment + stock checks
  4. Stored order outcome

WHAT TO COVER

Put verification where the action happens.

Verify before committing state

Place the server check before the protected action changes order or reservation state. Keep price calculation, inventory ownership, and payment authorization on the server.

A browser decision is not a payment decision

MANDATE provides evidence about a browser-originated request. It is not payment-fraud scoring, a chargeback guarantee, or a replacement for payment-provider controls.

Design for response loss

Customers refresh, networks drop, and payment providers send asynchronous updates. Use application-level idempotency and a stored operation result so a retry can recover an outcome without creating a duplicate order.

Separate callbacks from checkout

Payment webhooks and fulfillment jobs cannot complete browser verification. Keep them on independently authenticated paths, and observe the browser action before changing enforcement.
